1. Sexuality

Histute does not permit sexually explicit content or content that depicts, promotes, or instructs learners in sexual activity or sexual performance.

Content relating to reproductive health, relationships, or human sexuality may be permitted when presented for legitimate educational, medical, psychological, sociological, or health-related purposes and without explicit or suggestive material.

Not permitted

• Instruction on sexual techniques or performance.
• Instruction focused on seduction for sexual purposes.
• Content promoting or reviewing sex toys.
• Pornographic or sexually explicit content.
• Content that sexualizes individuals without a legitimate educational purpose.

Examples of potentially permitted content

• Sexual health and safe-sex education.
• Consent and communication.
• Human sexuality from a psychological, sociological, medical, or academic perspective.
• Reproductive health education presented professionally and appropriately.

2. Nudity and Attire

Nudity may only be permitted when it is genuinely necessary for an educational purpose, such as certain artistic, medical, anatomical, cultural, or academic instruction.

Where nudity is relevant, it must be presented professionally and without unnecessary sexualization or emphasis on exposed body parts.

Examples of permitted content

Histute may restrict or remove content where the presentation is inconsistent with these standards, even when the underlying subject could otherwise have educational value.

3. Dating and Relationships

Courses about relationships may be permitted when they provide constructive educational value and comply with Histute’s other policies.

Content focused primarily on sexual attraction, seduction, manipulation, or exploitative dating practices is not permitted.

Examples of permitted content

• Marriage and relationship counseling.
• Healthy communication within relationships.
• Conflict resolution and relationship development.
• General discussions of intimacy within a broader relationship-education course.
• Building self-confidence and interpersonal skills.

Examples of content that is not permitted

• Seduction techniques.
• Manipulative dating strategies.
• Content promoting harmful stereotypes about gender roles.
• Instruction designed to exploit or deceive potential partners.

4. Weapons Instruction

Histute does not generally permit instructional content teaching learners how to manufacture, modify, or use weapons for harmful purposes.

Limited educational content may be considered where weapons are discussed in a genuine historical, cultural, artistic, academic, or heritage context and where the content does not provide practical instructions for causing harm.

Not permitted

• Instructions for manufacturing firearms or ammunition.
• Instruction in the offensive use of weapons.
• Content teaching learners how to cause injury using weapons.
• Instructions for modifying weapons to increase their harmful capability.

Examples of potentially permitted content

Historical Weaponry:
A course examining the craftsmanship, history, and cultural significance of traditional African spears, shields, swords, or other historical weapons.

Cultural Heritage:
Instruction exploring the symbolism, artistic design, and historical role of traditional weapons within a specific African culture.

Non-functional Replicas:
Instruction on creating decorative or non-functional replicas for artistic, theatrical, museum, or cultural purposes.

Martial Arts Heritage:
Courses exploring traditional martial arts or movement systems where the emphasis is on cultural heritage, discipline, controlled practice, and safety.

Museum and Collection Education:
Educational content concerning the preservation, documentation, display, and historical study of antique weapons.

Any permitted weapons-related content must clearly communicate its educational purpose and comply with applicable laws and regulations.

Histute reserves the right to review and remove content that presents an unacceptable safety, legal, or policy risk.

5. Violence and Bodily Harm

Histute does not permit content that glorifies, promotes, encourages, or instructs learners to engage in violence or behavior likely to cause serious injury or harm.

Content involving violence may be considered when it has a legitimate educational purpose and is presented responsibly, such as historical, academic, safety, medical, or recovery-related education.

Not permitted

• Instruction or encouragement of self-harm.
• Instruction concerning suicide methods or promotion of suicidal behavior.
• Content glorifying violence or bodily harm.
• Content promoting substance abuse or illegal drug use.
• Instruction in dangerous or harmful practices without appropriate safety considerations.
• Content encouraging extreme or dangerous weight-management practices.
• Content promoting harmful or extreme body modification without a legitimate educational or health context.
• Instruction that encourages uncontrolled aggression or violence.
• Graphic or gratuitous depictions of violence, torture, cruelty, or severe injury without a legitimate educational purpose.

Examples of potentially permitted content

• Martial arts education emphasizing discipline, control, safety, and responsible practice.
• Historical studies of wars, conflicts, or violence presented academically.
• Substance-use recovery and education.
• First-aid, emergency response, and injury-prevention education.

6. Animal Welfare and Cruelty

Histute expects all content involving animals including pets, livestock, wildlife, and other species to promote responsible and humane treatment.

Content that depicts, encourages, teaches, or glorifies animal abuse, cruelty, neglect, exploitation, or illegal activities involving animals is prohibited.

Not permitted

• Cruel or abusive treatment of animals.
• Instruction in animal fighting.
• Content promoting neglect or unnecessary suffering.
• Illegal hunting or poaching.
• Illegal wildlife trade.
• Practices that intentionally compromise animal welfare for entertainment.

Permitted content

Educational content involving animals may be permitted when it promotes responsible care, conservation, veterinary knowledge, ethical farming, wildlife education, or other legitimate educational purposes.

7. Discriminatory Language or Ideas

Histute is committed to maintaining an inclusive environment where people can learn and participate without being subjected to discrimination, harassment, hatred, or degrading treatment.

Content or conduct that promotes discrimination based on characteristics such as race, ethnicity, nationality, sex, disability, age, language, religion or belief, sexual orientation, social origin, or other protected characteristics is prohibited.

Prohibited content includes

• Incitement to violence or hatred against individuals or groups.
• Hate speech or degrading language.
• Bullying, harassment, or humiliation.
• Racist or xenophobic content.
• Harmful stereotypes presented as fact.
• Content promoting discrimination or exclusion.
• Content advocating that a particular group is inherently inferior or undeserving of equal treatment.

Educational discussion of discrimination, racism, historical conflicts, or social inequalities may be permitted when presented objectively and for a legitimate educational purpose.

Histute may review, restrict, or remove content that violates these standards.

8. Illegal or Unethical Activities

Histute does not permit content that promotes, facilitates, or instructs learners in illegal or seriously harmful activities.

Instructors are responsible for ensuring that their courses comply with applicable laws and regulations.

Prohibited activities may include

• Instruction facilitating criminal activity.
• Terrorism or violent extremist activity.
• Sexual exploitation of minors.
• Child sexual abuse material.
• Human trafficking or exploitation.
• Fraud or financial crimes.
• Illegal drug production, distribution, or use.
• Illegal wildlife activities.
• Content promoting racial or ethnic hatred.
• Other activities that encourage serious unlawful conduct.

Histute may remove content immediately where necessary to protect users or comply with legal obligations.

9. Sensitive or Otherwise Inappropriate Topics

Histute serves a diverse audience that includes individual learners, educators, organizations, and professional customers.

Some subjects may not be prohibited outright but require careful consideration because of their potentially sensitive nature.

Examples may include:

• Trauma.
• Violence.
• Discrimination.
• Death and bereavement.
• Religion and personal beliefs.
• Political or controversial subjects.
• Historical conflicts.
• Other topics that may reasonably cause distress or offense.

Guidelines for sensitive content

Instructors should:

• Present sensitive subjects thoughtfully and professionally.
• Use respectful and inclusive language.
• Avoid unnecessary graphic imagery.
• Clearly explain the educational purpose of the material.
• Avoid sensationalizing traumatic or controversial subjects.

The educational purpose of a course does not automatically make otherwise inappropriate content acceptable.

10. Content for Young People

Histute’s services and account structure may not be designed for unrestricted use by children.

Where younger learners are permitted to access educational content, parents or guardians are responsible for determining whether the content and platform use are appropriate for them.

Courses specifically intended for young learners must be age-appropriate and educational in nature.

Instructors creating content for young learners should:
